Mini dental implants (1.8mm in diameter) are usually placed in the lower jaw bone to attach a loose lower complete denture to the lower dental arch. The techique requires the insertion of 4 mini-implants in the anterior segment of the lower jaw. At the same appointment, the patient's preexisting denture is retro-fitted to house the holding portion of the system. The entire procedure usually takes 1.5 hours
